Spring/Summer 2009 Update

with one comment

For Spring 09 D.S.DUNDEE has an exciting collaboration with long-standing UK shirt manufacturers Rayner & Sturges. To discuss the finer points of production first-hand and meet Robert Boyd Bowman and his team we recently visited the R&S factory in Brompton, Kent.

Rayner & Sturges has been in the shirt business since 1913 and currently makes for a number of well established brands and Jermyn Street stores. Here are some wooden pattern templates for some popular styles and a more modern view of how a laser cuts through a stack of fabric.

After our meeting and to conclude our tour of the factory we took the opportunity to get our sample shirt steamed & pressed with this amazing machine. The easy way to iron a shirt.

Here’s where the R&S label will be stitched into one of our limited edition cotton gingham checks for Spring. The stock should be with us by the beginning of May along with other SS09 products!
